Details Work within the Adult Psychiatric department, covering ADOL, Serenity, ITU, SRAD, and VINE units ADOL unit serves adolescent patients ages 12-18, while Serenity and VINE are lower acuity adult units ITU is a higher acuity adult unit serving patients with thought disorder diagnoses SRAD serves patients living a senior lifestyle Nurse to patient ratio of 8:1, with MHT ratio of 12:1 Uses Meditech documentation system Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Unit requires coverage for three 12-hour shifts each day, seven days a week, including weekends Floating may be required to units of greatest need within the facility No on-call requirements Requirements Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) required Current BLS certification required Active CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) Blue Card certification required Minimum 1 year of recent experience in adult psychiatric nursing required Skilled in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and de-escalation techniques Experience with psychiatric medication management and monitoring Strong therapeutic communication skills for building patient trust and rapport US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted) Two professional references required for Missouri assignments No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months Additional Information Conduct mental health assessments, including patient history, behavioral observation, and use of diagnostic tools Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and treatment goals Administer psychiatric medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support for patients experiencing suicidal ideation or aggression Monitor patients for physical and psychological symptoms, including vital signs and mental status changes Follow HCA's ICARE values (integrity, compassion, always, respect) and AIDET communication framework to enhance patient experience Dress code requires RNs to wear blue and MHTs to wear green or black Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered First-time travelers are welcome to apply
