While City of Hope is widely recognized for its oncology services, the Irvine Sand Canyon clinic provides care to non-oncology patients with diverse diagnoses and chronic conditions who require biologic and/or immunotherapy treatments.

The Registered Nurse will play an integral role in delivering safe, high-quality care in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities include assisting physicians with procedures, triaging supportive and palliative care needs, coordinating patient care, and ensuring timely communication across the care team. The RN will also help lead daily clinic throughput in collaboration with a team of 2–3 medical assistants, promoting efficient patient flow, effective teamwork, and an exceptional patient experience.

As a successful candidate, you will

  • Assessing patients’ health status
  • Developing and implementing care plans
  • Administering medications, monitoring patents’ vital signs and symptoms
  • Providing education and support to patients and their families and coordinating care and follow-up appointments. Help with managing side effects and complications from their cancer treatment. Involved in quality improvement initiatives, and patient education programs specific to cancer care.
  • Utilizes the nursing process based on evidence-based best practices to meet the patient care needs.
  • Additional duties include stocking and maintaining infusion supplies, ensuring treatment areas are organized and prepared for patient flow.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Your qualifications should include

Associate degree in nursing.

  • 3 years+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse
  • Must have a current and valid California Registered Nurse license.

Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience in a physician’s office or hospital.
