This position is located at Deer Lodge Medical Center in Deer Lodge, Montana. Come join our amazing team! We have a full-time night shift position working three (3) 12-hour shifts from 6PM to 6AM in the Med Surg/ED department. (PSLF ) As an integral member of the Health Care Team, the RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by Montana State, and the American Nurses Association (ANA) Scope and Standards for Nursing Practice. The RN adheres to Deer Lodge Medical Center’s policies, procedures, and guidelines for patient care. The RN is responsible for providing safe, family-centered patient care. Using the Nursing Care Process, the RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in a collaborative method with the patient and patient’s family, significant others, and members of the health care team. The RN may be required to provide supervision and delegation of tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and others, as defined by the Montana State Nursing Board. The RN assists in meeting Deer Lodge Medical Center’s strategic goals by incorporating the initiatives to support the strategic plans into the daily work, i.e., implementing the Planetree Model of Care, Continuous Quality Improvement projects, etc. Full benefit package, competitive pay and retention bonus available. QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum qualifications listed below, along with educational requirements and experience, are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform this job successfully. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position Minimum Education and Experience: Required Education/ Experience: · Graduate of accredited school of nursing as Associate Degree Nurse (ADN) Required Credentials: · Current Montana State RN license · Current BLS or CPR for Healthcare Providers certification · ACLS, PALS/ENPC are required within 6 months and TNCC is required within 1 year of hire. · Specialty certification in area of practice may be required for specific departments · Prior experience in a related health care setting, or a specific area of nursing, may be required for specific departments, i.e., surgery, emergency department, clinic Preferred Education and Experience: · Bachelor’s degree in Nursing · Nursing experience in rural healthcare or critical access hospitals DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Knowledge of basic computer skills and ability to learn and apply new technologies and skills. 2. Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills. 3. Flexibility related to scheduling and clinical responsibilities is required, to meet patient, family, and program needs. 4. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. 5. Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment and to shifts in organizational philosophy and expectations. 6. Ability to identify personal opportunities for growth and learning; ability to assume responsibility for continuous clinical and professional knowledge and skills. 7. Follows safety & security policies & procedures, immediately reporting suspicious activities and unsafe conditions. Uses and maintains equipment, tools & materials properly. 8. The employee follows all DLMC infection control policies and procedures, including the handling of blood and/or body fluid substances. Utilizes universal precautions with all patient assignments, and participates in supporting performance improvement initiatives and quality measures activities established at DLMC. 9. Works with integrity, upholding DLMC mission and values, while maintaining confidentiality in all situations. Demonstrates and exhibits behavior congruent with the philosophy and mission of DLMC. Refuses to participate in unethical procedures or activities, and notifies appropriate authority of observed incompetence or unethical behavior. Accepts assignments away from usual assigned area with a positive and cooperative attitude. Participates in the orientation of new personnel as assigned. 10. Participates in all mandatory meetings, in-services and job training, including attending at least 75% (nine out of twelve) of the mandatory monthly staff meetings. 11. Adheres to requirements, policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or other Hospital/Clinic practices, in order to perform patient care duties which ensure high-quality patient care in accordance with licensure, DLMC policy, and scope of practice. 12.
