Responsibilities of the Director of Nursing (DON)
- Direct staff and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team to support to the residents and their families
- Supervise scheduling of staff to ensure uninterrupted service
- Recruit staff
- Assist in completing monthly audits of sample EMR charting
- Review admissions/referrals and assist in interviewing/selecting residents for admission with the Administrator's approval
- Serve as the Infection Control Coordinator, reporting in all matters directly to the Administrator
- Serve as chairperson of the Quality Assurance Committee
- Supervise the MDS/Care Plan Coordinator to ensure that all MDS forms are completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Manager on duty weekend rotation

Requirements
of the Director of Nursing (DON)
- Minimum two (2) years of Director of Nursing (DON) experience
- Current Registered Nurse (RN), license from the State of Illinois
- Clinical and supervisory experience in a mental health facility required
- Previous hospital and/or long term care facility experience required
- Proven leadership and relationship building skills
