Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for medical-surgical and telemetry patients; coordinate total nursing care and support as a backup Charge Nurse
  • Monitor patient status, administer medications, perform assessments, and educate patients and families
  • Collaborate with ancillary staff and other members of the care team to uphold professional nursing standards and patient safety
  • Document care and progress in Cerner EMR; adhere to nurse-to-patient ratios (1:4/5) and monitor average census around 22
  • May float to units within scope of practice; participate in call responsibilities as required
  • Maintain infection control, safety, and regulatory compliance; respond to changes in patient condition promptly
  • Note: Block scheduling will not be considered; RTO requests must be included in profile and are limited to five days when possible

Requirements

  • Vermont RN license or Compact licensure
  • Active BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • 2 years recent Med Surg Rehab experience
  • Charge Nurse experience required
  • Previous travel experience (at least 3 months)
  • BSN preferred
  • Must have own vehicle; local travelers within 50 miles are not eligible
  • All RTO requests must be included in the candidate profile; scheduling requests after submission may affect eligibility
  • Willingness to float within unit scope and to work 36-hour day shifts
