Travel Registered Nurse ER Job

• Work setting: Emergency Department in a hospital environment

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive ED nursing care: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions and patient goals per standards of care, protocols, and policies; document and communicate patient status to the team.
• Triage and initial assessment on arrival; administer medications and IV therapy per physician orders; monitor response and escalate as needed.
• Manage airway and critical care needs for patients, including suctioning, ventilation support as indicated, and interpretation of ABGs and oxygenation status.
• Educate patients and families, coordinate discharge planning, and connect with resources to support ongoing care and safety after the ED visit.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance: identify risk to patient safety, report incidents, manage violence when present, and document care accurately; delegate tasks appropriately and supervise others as needed.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• ACLS required on hire OR BLS with ACLS obtained within 60 days of hire; PALS within six months; TNCC, ENPC and CEN preferred
• ED nursing experience 3–5 years preferred
• Ability to work in a high-acuity ED setting and to rotate to night shifts as scheduled
