Multi-Specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center with 6 Operating Rooms is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will provide quality patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Duties
- Review daily OR schedule and surgeon’s preference cards.
- Check OR equipment (lights, suction, electrosurgical units) for functionality.
- Ensure correct instruments and supplies are available per scheduled case.
- Verify patient identity, consent, NPO status, allergies, and operative site.
- Prep OR and patient (shaving, scrubbing, draping, positioning).
- Implement aseptic technique and maintain sterile field.
- Support scrub nurse/tech with instruments and supply needs.
- Monitor patient’s physical status and assist anesthesia as needed.
- Accurately complete sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
- Classify surgical wound, manage fluids, and assist with specimen handling.
- Anticipate and respond to surgical team needs during procedures.
- Obtain post-op diagnosis and procedure details from surgeon.
- Supervise OR cleaning and help prep for next case.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols.
- Maintain current knowledge of policies, chart forms, and documentation.
- Participate in Quality Improvement activities and complete required trainings.
- Maintain certifications and continuing education.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Promote teamwork, exercise professional judgment, and maintain patient-centered care.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license and registration.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Prior experience in an ambulatory surgery setting preferred.
Pay: $50.00 - $65.00 per hour
