Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to post-operative cardiothoracic patients.
- Monitor hemodynamic status and recognize changes in patient condition.
- Support recovery in a stepdown/intermediate care setting.
- Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
- Respond promptly to patient needs and clinical changes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient status and interventions.
- Educate patients and families regarding recovery expectations and post-operative care.
- Adapt to staffing needs across the system as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of cardiothoracic stepdown experience within the last 2 years.
- Active Registered Nurse license in good standing.
- Strong critical-thinking, assessment, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity cardiac care environment.
- Flexibility with scheduling and floating requirements.
