Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to)

  • Assess patients, obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, and prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures (Pre-Procedure Preparation)
  • Assist cardiologists during procedures such as angioplasties, stent placements, electrophysiological studies, and other cardiac interventions (Intra-Procedure Assistance)
  • Monitoring patient post-procedure for complications, provide post-procedure instructions, and ensuring patient stability before discharge or transfer to another unit
  • Operate and troubleshoot complex medical equipment used in the catheterization lab, such as hemodynamic monitors and other diagnostic tools
  • Quickly respond to any emergencies or complications that arise during procedures, such as arrhythmias, myocardial infarctions, or bleeding
  • Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including pre-procedure assessments, intra-procedure details, and post-procedure outcomes
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiac care and catheterization techniques

Qualifications

  • Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License required
  • Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required
  • One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required
