Crisis Intervention Nurse

The Crisis Intervention Nurse (CIN) serves as the frontrunner of the multi-disciplinary team and coordinates the execution of rapid response to psychiatric emergencies encompassing de-escalation, restraints application, response, assessment and stabilization, disposition and evaluation. The CIN facilitates and responds to Crisis Intervention, security and Code Lavender activation. The CIN operates under the guidelines of the Code Lavender or other applicable guidelines/procedures and standardized procedures.

The CIN facilitates team huddles, debriefings and evaluation of the Crisis intervention, structure and process. The CIN contributes to quality and performance improvement initiatives and provides ongoing education and training to staff.
