Registered Nurse - Pre-Procedure Testing and Evaluation

The Pre-Procedure Testing and Evaluation RN is responsible for conducting pre-procedural patient and family education, utilizing the nurse process for assessment, evaluation and treatment of the patient across the continuum surrounding the patient's procedure. Major duties include conducting assessments and evaluating patient readiness for invasive procedures requiring sedation or anesthesia, completing evaluations in accordance with medical center policy and nationally recognized standards in collaboration with the Department of Anesthesia, evaluating consults for pre-testing evaluation, scheduling patients, communicating with interdisciplinary team members regarding testing and clearance requirements, providing patients with preparation information, initiating follow-up, and demonstrating understanding of infection control precautions.
