*Overview* Join our dynamic healthcare team as an RN Ambulatory Surgery Pre/Post Nurse, where your expertise will directly impact patient experiences and surgical outcomes. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive preoperative and postoperative nursing care in a fast-paced outpatient surgical setting. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure patients are well-prepared for procedures and recover safely, all while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and comfort. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your diverse nursing skills in a collaborative environment dedicated to excellence in ambulatory surgery care. We provide cataract surgery 3 days a week and interventional cardiology 2 days a week. *Responsibilities* * Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and physical examinations to determine readiness for surgery or recovery. * Prepare patients for procedures by explaining processes, ensuring understanding of instructions, and addressing concerns with empathy and clarity. * Administer medications, including IV infusions and injections, following aseptic techniques and safety protocols. * Monitor patients’ vital signs, oxygen levels, and overall condition during preoperative and postoperative phases, promptly identifying any signs of complications or acute pain. * Assist with surgical procedures in the outpatient setting, including prepping, catheterization, and occasional sterile processing of instruments. * Document all patient interactions accurately using electronic health record (EHR) system is ModMed, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including CRNA, Ophthalmologist and Cardiologist, and support staff to coordinate seamless patient care transitions from pre-op to post-op recovery. *Experience* * Proven nursing experience in ambulatory surgery centers or outpatient surgical settings is highly preferred. * Critical care experience in ICU or emergency medicine enhances your ability to manage acute situations effectively. * Familiarity with EMR/EHR is helpful for efficient documentation. * Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, medication administration—and IV infusion. * Experience working with diverse patient populations such as, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous. * Prior exposure to outpatient procedures involving ophthalmology, ENT, or minor surgical interventions is a plus. * Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as ACLS will be required.
