Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention as needed.
  • Monitor fetal status with external/internal monitoring, administer medications per protocol, manage pain relief, and coordinate with the obstetric team during labor and delivery.
  • Assist with deliveries, manage postpartum care, and participate in patient and family education throughout the perinatal period.
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation, including charting of events, medications, and outcomes; ensure infection control and safety standards are followed.
  • Be prepared to float to medical-surgical units for overflow and to care for pediatric patients as required; assist with perioperative or neonatal care if needed.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
  • Fetal monitoring class (intermediate or advanced) completed within the past 24 months; must commit to obtaining PALS prior to start

Experience

minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing; 3+ years preferred

  • Willingness to float to MS and care for pediatric patients
  • EPIC experience is highly preferred
  • Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts in a short-term, acute care setting
