Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

• Administer medications and injections accurately following physician orders and established protocols, including IV infusions and pain management treatments.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments by monitoring vital signs, evaluating physical conditions, and documenting medical histories using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
• Assist with complex procedures including catheterization, wound suturing, tube feeding, and sterile dressing changes while maintaining aseptic techniques.
• Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments in memory care or hospice settings.
• Support emergency response efforts by managing airway emergencies, ventilator care, and acute pain situations within Level I trauma centers or ICU environments.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet regulatory standards such as HIPAA and long-term care regulations.
• Educate patients and their families on health management strategies including medication administration, discharge planning, nutrition, and caregiver communication.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation of patient care activities, specimen collection/processing, CPT coding for procedures, and ICD coding for diagnoses to ensure compliance with healthcare standards.

*Experience*

• Proven experience working as an LPN in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals (including emergency medicine and Level II trauma centers), nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities, or outpatient clinics.
• Demonstrated proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for documentation and patient management.
• Critical care experience including ICU or PICU environments is highly desirable; familiarity with acute care practices is essential.
• Hands-on experience with IV insertion, phlebotomy, medication administration via injections or IV lines, and catheter care.
• Background working with geriatric populations or individuals with disabilities—especially those requiring dementia or Alzheimer's care—is preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for accurate diagnosis documentation; experience in case management or discharge planning is a plus.
• Strong understanding of infection control protocols, physical examinations, vital signs monitoring, and first aid techniques.
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced settings such as emergency rooms or urgent care clinics while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
