Overview

RNDirect places Registered Nurses in contract roles across hospital, behavioral health, corrections, and long-term care settings. This position provides direct patient care, coordinates treatment plans, and supports patients through acute, chronic, and rehabilitative phases of care. Assignments vary by facility and specialty; qualified candidates should be prepared to work in fast-paced clinical environments with minimal onboarding time.

  • Complete patient assessments, including vital signs, physical exams, and health histories, to determine care needs

  • Administer medications and injections per protocol and monitor for adverse reactions
  • Document patient care accurately in EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks) in compliance with HIPAA
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures, including phlebotomy, specimen collection, and imaging support
  • Manage acute and chronic conditions through interventions such as IV therapy, wound care, ostomy care, and ventilator support as applicable to the assignment
  • Deliver specialty care in areas including ICU, emergency medicine, trauma, or NICU based on unit placement
  • Support discharge planning and coordinate follow-up care, home health referrals, or long-term care placement
  • Maintain infection control and aseptic technique across all patient interactions

Qualifications

  • Active, unencumbered RN license (compact license preferred for multistate assignments)
  • Experience across diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and dementia or developmental disability care
  • Working proficiency with major EHR platforms
  • Solid grasp of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and ICD-10/CPT coding as it applies to documentation
  • Competency in advanced nursing procedures relevant to the assignment (catheterization, suturing, dialysis support, ostomy care)
  • Ability to function independently in high-acuity settings, including EDs, ICUs, and trauma centers
  • Strong assessment skills paired with clear, compassionate patient communication and education

Assignment Details

Contract length, shift structure, and specialty requirements vary by placement and are confirmed prior to assignment start. Compensation is assignment-specific.

Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 per week
