*Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital* is an equal partnership between Universal Health Services and Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. The facility provides inpatient care for individuals ages 14 and older and is the only freestanding psychiatric hospital in its region, equipped with specialized capabilities to serve diverse mental health needs. We are hiring full-time *RNs* for *day *and *night *shifts *(7a-7:30p or 7p - 7:30a, 36 hours/week, every third weekend rotation)* offering an excellent benefits package. There is opportunity for overtime and to cover various shifts if interested. *New rates based on experience and shift: $32.00-$50.00* *Night shift: $20,000 sign-on bonus!* *Day shift: $10,000 sign-on bonus!* Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a newly opened (July, 2018) 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and start-up joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services. In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the new facility will also offer services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women’s trauma unit. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality inpatient psychiatric care, ensuring safety, comfort, and effective treatment for our patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for mental health nursing, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic healthcare environment. *Responsibilities* * Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with mental health conditions, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment plans. * Administer medications accurately, including injections and IV infusions, while monitoring patient responses and side effects. * Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or Epic to document patient information meticulously and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. * Conduct patient assessments using vital signs measurement, physical examinations, and physiological knowledge to inform care strategies. * Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans that incorporate trauma medicine, behavioral health, memory care, and acute pain management as needed. * Respond promptly to emergency situations utilizing critical care response procedures, airway management skills, and aseptic techniques. * Support patients with developmental disabilities or dementia through specialized memory care practices and behavioral health interventions. * Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring proper catheter care, ostomy management, and sterile processing. *Requirements* * Valid RN license with current state licensure; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred. * Demonstrated experience working in psychiatric or behavioral health settings; experience in trauma centers or ICU is advantageous. * Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Epic; familiarity with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding is a plus. * Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration protocols, and nursing documentation standards. * Ability to perform physical examinations, venipuncture (phlebotomy), IV insertion, suturing, and specimen collection/processing accurately. * Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care, family education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. * Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is desirable; familiarity with neuropsychiatric conditions such as Alzheimer's or dementia is beneficial.
