Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for patients requiring step-down level of care
- Monitor patient status, document assessments, and adjust care plans in collaboration with the care team
- Administer medications, infusions, and therapies per physician orders; manage IVs and complex equipment
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition; escalate as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory, physical/occupational therapy, and case management to coordinate care and discharge planning
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, meds, and post-discharge needs
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers – American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Healthcare Provider – American Heart Association (AHA)
Education
RN degree from an accredited program; BSN preferred; magnet-recognized certification preferred
- Ability to work in a medical step-down setting and to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment
