About this role
The Cath Lab PACU Nurse provides high-level clinical care to patients immediately following invasive cardiac and vascular procedures. The primary focus is on hemodynamic monitoring, vascular access site management (hemostasis), and the identification of post-procedural complications. - Clinical Stabilization: Managing vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and recovery from sedation, with an immediate focus on responding to hemodynamic instability or arrhythmias. - Vascular Oversight: Managing arterial/venous access sites to ensure hemostasis and preventing complications like hematomas through careful site monitoring and device management. - Pharmacological Management: Administering specialized cardiac medications (anticoagulants/antiplatelets) and analgesics according to physician orders. - Patient Advocacy & Transitions: Providing thorough patient/family education on post-procedure restrictions and medication compliance, while ensuring seamless hand-offs to the next level of care.
