Position Summary

IBCC is seeking an experienced and collaborative Director of Nursing to provide leadership for all nursing services across our organization. This position oversees clinical nursing operations, nursing staff development, regulatory compliance, quality improvement initiatives, and patient safety while partnering closely with medical providers and operational leadership to ensure exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate is an experienced nursing leader who thrives in a fast-paced ambulatory care environment and is passionate about serving underserved populations.

  • Provide leadership and oversight for all nursing operations across multiple clinic locations.
  • Supervise and mentor Registered Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, and other nursing staff.
  • Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and nursing workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with HRSA, NCQA PCMH, OSHA, HIPAA, California Board of Registered Nursing regulations, and other applicable standards.
  • Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Oversee nursing orientation, annual competencies, staff education, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with providers, operations, quality, behavioral health, and executive leadership to improve clinical outcomes and patient experience.
  • Support infection prevention, emergency preparedness, vaccine program oversight, and clinical regulatory readiness.
  • Monitor nursing performance metrics and identify opportunities for operational excellence.

Requirements

Required

  • Current unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive nursing leadership experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of ambulatory care, community health, or FQHC experience
  • Current BLS certification

Preferred

  • Master's degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field
  • Experience with HRSA-funded health centers
  • Experience with NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH)
  • Experience using eClinicalWorks (eCW) or comparable electronic health record systems
  • Strong clinical and operational leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and team-building abilities
  • Experience leading quality improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and accreditation standards
  • Passion for serving diverse and underserved communities
  • Ability to lead through change while fostering a positive, collaborative culture
