About this role

Join our Nursing Team | Per Diem / PRN | Southern Nevada$48–$52/hour patient care + paid drive time + mileage reimbursement

Alara Home Care is a new, nurse-owned home health agency serving Southern Nevada, and we’re hiring the first nurses who will care for Alara patients.

We’re building the kind of nursing culture we’d want to work in ourselves: high clinical standards, strong support, less administrative noise, and more attention on the patient.

Our initial patient population is primarily served through federal healthcare programs rather than traditional Medicare home health, which means no OASIS . And we’re using technology intentionally—to organize information, track follow-up, and reduce the administrative work that too often falls back on the nurse.

The goal is simple: give great nurses the tools and support to spend more of their attention nursing.

The Role

As an Alara RN, you’ll provide skilled nursing care in patients’ homes.

Many of our patients are medically complex adults, including former nuclear workers receiving healthcare benefits through the Department of Labor’s EEOICPA White Card program.

You’ll have the autonomy of field nursing with the clinical support of a nurse-led agency. We value nurses who know their patients, recognize changes early, communicate clearly, and follow important issues through.

What You’ll Do

  • Complete comprehensive Start of Care assessments — no OASIS
  • Provide ongoing skilled nursing visits and assessments
  • Assess changes in condition and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Perform medication reconciliation and patient education
  • Provide wound care and other ordered skilled treatments
  • Assess respiratory, cardiovascular, neurologic, functional, pain, and safety needs
  • Educate patients and family caregivers
  • Communicate with physicians and other members of the care team
  • Coordinate care across disciplines and providers
  • Contribute to and carry out the individualized plan of care
  • Complete accurate, timely clinical documentation
  • Follow significant clinical issues through to resolution

We’re looking for nurses with strong clinical judgment.

Technology supports your judgment. It doesn’t replace it.

And as one of Alara’s first nurses, you’ll join a small clinical team where communication is direct, leadership knows its nurses, and nurses have the support to do their jobs well.

Compensation

Patient care: $48–$52/hour

Applies to patient-care time and required visit documentation.

Drive time: paid hourly

Travel between patient visits is tracked and paid separately at Alara’s established drive-time rate.

Mileage: reimbursed

Eligible mileage between patient visits is reimbursed in addition to paid drive time.

Schedule

Per Diem / PRN

Flexible scheduling based on patient needs and your availability. We schedule geographically whenever possible to minimize unnecessary driving.

Qualifications

Required

  • Active, unrestricted Nevada RN license
  • Current BLS/CPR certification
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
  • Clear communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently in the home setting
  • 1 year Home health experience

Preferred

  • Experience with medically complex adults
  • Oncology, respiratory, wound, neurologic, or chronic disease experience
  • Experience coordinating care with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
  • EEOICPA patient experience highly preferred

Experience with EEOICPA or Department of Labor programs is helpful but not required. We can teach the program.

Worth asking

The posting doesn’t answer these. Good ones to ask a recruiter or in the interview.

  • Can you walk me through base pay range and differentials?
  • What should I expect for shifts, weekly hours, weekend, holiday, call, and rotation?
  • What orientation, preceptor time, and ongoing unit support are included?
  • How are patient load, floating, and staffing support handled day to day?
