Make a Difference When Patients Need You Most
Dignity Home Health & Hospice is growing, and we’re seeking a dependable, compassionate On-Call Registered Nurse (RN) to provide clinical support to patients and their families outside of regular business hours.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced nurse who is comfortable working independently, confident making clinical decisions, and passionate about delivering compassionate, patient-focused care. You’ll also have the support of a collaborative team dedicated to providing exceptional care.
Position Details
- Employment Type: Part-Time, On-Call
- Service Area: Multiple locations throughout Utah County
- Weekend Commitment: Up to 2 weekends per month
- On-Call
Schedule
Friday at 5:00 p.m. through Monday at 7:55 a.m.
- Or: Monday - Monday, or partial days as needed
About the Role
As an On-Call RN, you will serve as an important after-hours clinical resource for patients, families, caregivers, and facility staff. You’ll provide assessment, education, guidance, and hands-on nursing care during scheduled evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Your ability to respond calmly and professionally will help ensure patients receive consistent, timely care whenever they need assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to patient needs outside of regular business hours through telephone triage and in-person visits as appropriate.
- Complete comprehensive nursing assessments in a variety of care environments, including private homes, assisted living communities, and skilled nursing facilities.
- Provide clinical guidance, education, reassurance, and support to patients, families, caregivers, and facility staff.
- Complete admissions during after-hours when necessary.
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely clinical documentation.
- Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity, coordination, and consistency of patient care.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 1 year of home health and/or hospice nursing experience preferred .
- Strong patient assessment skills and the ability to apply sound clinical judgment and critical thinking.
- A dependable, calm, and professional approach when handling urgent, unexpected, or unfamiliar situations.
- Genuine compassion and respect for patients and their families.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort using electronic medical records and other healthcare technology.
- Reliable transportation for travel throughout the service area.
Required Licensure & Certifications
- Current Utah Registered Nurse (RN) license — required
- Current CPR certification — required
- Valid Utah driver’s license and current automobile insurance — required
