American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown RN with a TX or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience for a day-shift telemetry/step-down role.
Details
- Step-down unit with a mix of med/surg and intermediate care patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on assignment
- Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with 36 or 48 hour options
- Nurses may be asked to take med/surg patients during overflow
- Uses Epic charting system

- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience required
- Required
certifications
BLS, ACLS, nihss
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred

Additional Information
- Responsibilities include cardiac telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and use of rapid response/code teams
- Care duties may include IV therapy, central and peripheral line management, and administration of cardiac and vasoactive medications without titration
- Additional patient care areas may include wound care, renal failure management, CVA, and substance withdrawal care
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
- Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
