RISE Community Hospital is a state-of-the-art community hospital in Prairieville, LA. Designed to bridge the gap between acute medical needs and sustainable recovery, our facility features a 3-bed Emergency Department and a 10-bed inpatient unit . At the heart of our mission is the RISE Recovery Program —providing vital medical clearance, withdrawal management, and stabilization for patients taking their first brave steps toward addiction recovery.
We are seeking a dedicated Substance Abuse Registered Nurse to join our founding clinical team.
What You’ll Do
As a Substance Abuse RN , you will provide direct, specialized bedside care for individuals navigating addiction, substance use disorders, and co-occurring conditions:
- Clinical Assessment & Monitoring: Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, track patient progress, and manage complex withdrawal symptoms (such as DTs, seizures, and tachycardia) using evidence-based protocols like CIWA.
- Individualized Care & Treatment: Collaborate closely with physicians to develop tailored care plans, administer medications (oral, subcutaneous, IV), and provide effective pain management services.
- Holistic Support & Advocacy: Conduct mental health screenings, offer compassionate emotional support, and educate patients and their families on post-treatment home care and long-term recovery resources.
- Empathetic & Safe Environment: Monitor behavioral changes, utilize restraint protocols safely when necessary, and actively participate in multi-disciplinary discharge planning to ensure seamless transitions into rehabilitation.
Requirements
Licensure
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Certifications
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Education
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Current ACLS and/or PALS certifications.
- 2+ years of substance abuse/detox or critical care experience in a hospital or equivalent setting.
