Evaluate patients prior to surgery, provide patient and family education, assume responsibility for patient preparation, participate in surgical site verification, recognize and respond to patient emergencies, deliver high-quality patient-centered care, be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team, apply the nursing process and critical thinking skills, assess patient condition and document changes, educate patients and families.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Registered Nurse Diploma
  • Previous OR experience or completion of a periop program required
