Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care for surgical patients in the operating room, following state and facility policies.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff to ensure patient safety and efficient procedures.
- Monitor patient status, vital signs, anesthesia equipment, and maintain sterile technique throughout procedures.
- Assist with patient positioning, equipment checks, specimen handling, and communication during case transitions.
- Document intraoperative care accurately and communicate effectively during handoffs to recovery and other teams.
- Support preoperative and postoperative workflows as delegated by the Unit Director and Clinical Leader/Charge Nurse.
Requirements
- Active Maine RN license
- BLS and ACLS required within 30 days of hire
- Telemetry experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 per state mandate
- Ability to work in a hospital operating room environment and collaborate with the surgical team
