Swap snow boots for dawn patrol at Pacific Beach before shifts at UC San Diego Health. San Diego's cost of living runs about 12% above the national average, but California nursing wages, 70 miles of coastline, and Balboa Park make the premium work—especially when January means outdoor tacos in Barrio Logan, not windshield ice.
