Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients across high, moderate, and low-risk categories in labor and delivery.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver patient- and family-centered care; prioritize and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
- Attend to patients across OB service and participate in orientation to various competencies and delivery modes; float among OB/GYN units to meet variable volume and acuity.
- Monitor patient status, administer medications, perform assessments, and document accurately; respond promptly to changes in condition and emergencies.
- Support triage activities and, when assigned, assist with OR coordination; maintain readiness for neonatal resuscitation and adhere to BLS/NRP requirements.
- Maintain safety, infection control, and evidence-based practice; provide patient and family education on postpartum care and newborn care.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York (NY RN)
- Minimum 2 years of OB/L&D experience
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Neonatal Resuscitation required (NRP)
- Graduation from an approved nursing program and current NY RN licensure
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts and float across OB units as needed
Education
- RN degree from an accredited nursing program; current NY license required for practice
