The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital, we provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. Under the general direction of Nursing Leadership and in collaboration with a nurse preceptor and nurse educator along with an interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse Resident utilizes evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, and policies and procedures of the hospital. This position develops a plan of care, which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of the patient and family.

Qualifications

Education

• Completion of a formal Nursing program.

• Associate’s degree in Nursing

Licensure, Certification, Registration

• Registered Nurse, State of CT

• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

• Additional certifications may be required in specific specialties

Language Skills

• Must be able to effectively communicate information in English.

• Proficiency in basic computer skills and use of industry applications/programs. Ability to learn new technology and programs as advancements and changes are implemented.
