Summary
Urban Health Plan is currently recruiting for regular Part Time Registered Nurse to work within our family health centers in the Bronx. This is not a per diem position, and we are seeking nurses who have the ability to work regular 2-3 recurring shifts every week on a regular part time basis. As an RN, you will provide comprehensive nursing support and patient care in our family medicine practice.
Current Part Time Needs
- Pediatrics- Bronx, NY - 3 shifts: must include at a minimum Saturday and Monday as two of the shifts with a third weekday 8am-5pm/9am-6pm shift
Minimum
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Nursing is required.
- NYS Registered Professional Nurse, required.
- 1-2 years of previous nursing experience with pediatric aged patients.
- Bilingual English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, compassion, empathy, and team-driven attributes are essential.
- Knowledge/training in electronic health records and Microsoft Office.
Key
Duties
- Triage patients and assists patients with their needs based on acuity.
- Provides quality nursing care and medication administration. Administers immunizations/vaccines to specified patients.
- Monitors patient reactions and side-effects.
- Assists care team with pre-visit planning for high-risk patients.
- Ensures implementation of plans of care.
- Behaves as a role-model and source of nursing guidance to medical assistants and phlebotomists that are part of the team.
- Assists with prepping patients as needed and providing patient education.
- Assists providers during examinations and treatments.
- Ensures proper sterilization procedures using germicides, sterilizers, or autoclave.
- Ensures departmental adherence to clinical policies and procedures.
- Maintains health records by documenting patient contact and updating patient profile.
- Implements standing orders.
- Checks equipment, logs, and medical kits. Assists with ordering medical supplies, medications, and vaccines.
Compensation
$54.25 per hour
