Assignment Overview Shift: Rotating, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Jun 8, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU / Intermediate Care (SICU/IMC) position at a large academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of current Surgical ICU experience and at least 2 prior travel assignments.
Details Position is in a Surgical ICU / Intermediate Care unit (SICU/IMC) at a large academic hospital (500+ bed facility) Patient population includes trauma, transplant, vascular, GI, ortho-spine, oncology, and general surgery post-operative patients Rotating day/night 12-hour shifts (7A/7P rotation) 13-week contract Weekend requirement: 3 out of every 6 weekends per 6-week schedule On-call requirement: 2 availability calls per 6-week schedule Holiday coverage required as needed Floating to areas of like skill set as needed Epic EMR experience preferred Orientations are held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month Requirements Active MD or compact RN license currently in hand BLS certification required ACLS certification preferred Critical Care Certification preferred Trauma course completion preferred Minimum 2 years of current Surgical ICU experience required At least 2 prior travel assignments required Experience at a 500+ bed facility required Epic EMR experience preferred SSN and DOB required for consideration 1 professional reference required for consideration Additional Information Provides nursing care to a complex surgical ICU population including trauma, transplant, vascular, GI, ortho/neuro spine, oncology, and general surgery patients Local candidates are accepted at the same bill rate
