Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for obstetric patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status; administer medications and assist with labor, delivery, and postpartum care as needed.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team.
- Communicate and collaborate with physicians, anesthesia, neonatology, and support services to ensure safe, patient-centered care.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately; maintain compliance with policies and procedures.
- Respond to obstetric emergencies as part of the clinical team, employing critical thinking and professional judgment.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license to practice in California (CA)
- Relevant Labor & Delivery experience or strong clinical rotation in obstetric care
- Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts (3x per week)
- Demonstrated critical thinking, clinical judgment, and teamwork in a fast-paced setting
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care consistent with established standards
