Why does the job exist?

Performs nursing duties for Chemical Dependency and Medical Rehabilitation Patients.

How does it get done?

Incumbent is responsible for meeting standards, certification, licensing and statutory requirements. This position will provide executive leadership to medical personnel within the unit while meeting quality care standards and enhancing personnel performance.

Who are the customers?

Patients in need of rehabilitation for Chemical Dependency or Medical Rehabilitation.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate would have experience in nursing care to physical rehabilitation and/or chemically dependent patients; Maintaining electronic medical records and would have CPR certification.

Minimum Qualification

Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico and two (2) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.

Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirement. Employment is subject to post offer pre-employment criminal background check and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and must complete a Defensive Driving Course.

Working Conditions

Candidate will have experience working with targeted population. This position will perform work in a hospital setting with exposure to visual/video display terminal and extensive computer and phone usage. Lifting up to thirty (30) pounds may be required. Incumbent may be exposed to unpredictable and potentially violent patients in stressful situation. Some travel with the occasional overnight stay may be required.
