About this role
Join Our Nursing Team at MercyOne Newton Medical Center! Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) - Newton, Iowa. The Registered Nurse plans and provides professional nursing care to patients from admission through discharge.
Coordinates care across disciplines, collaborates with physicians, consults with patients and families, and assesses, implements, and evaluates individualized nursing care plans. Provides leadership and supervision to Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and Support Assistants while helping deliver outstanding patient-centered care. The 23 private-room Medical Surgical unit cares for patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical diagnoses including Congestive heart failure, Cardiac arrhythmias, Pneumonia, Diabetes, COPD, Abdominal surgeries, Total joint replacements, Orthopedic patients, Hospice care, Skilled rehabilitation, and Infusion therapy.
