Registered Nurse position on 6NE, a 24-bed cardiovascular surgical stepdown unit at Cedars-Sinai, dedicated to caring for stable cardiac surgical patients requiring close monitoring of their heart rhythm. Nurses care for all solid organ transplant patients including thoracic surgery patients, post VATS or lung volume reduction and vascular and post cardiac surgery patients. Responsibilities include providing direct and indirect patient care services, patient education, medication administration, performing skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy, initiating peripheral venous access, observing and assessing signs and symptoms of illness, planning and implementing individualized patient care, and identifying patient safety concerns. The unit uses a multidisciplinary approach to comprehensive care.
