About the School & Position Overview Located in Davie, FL, our premier private school facility is dedicated to providing an exceptional educational and supportive environment for students. We believe that student success starts with total health and wellness, which is why we are seeking a compassionate, highly skilled Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to lead our campus health services. Key Responsibilities Comprehensive Campus Health: Oversee daily school clinic operations, providing primary triage, first aid, emergency care, and chronic condition management for students across all grade levels. Advanced Care Management: Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with chronic conditions (e.g., severe allergies, diabetes, asthma, seizures) and oversee safe medication administration. Health Compliance & Records: Ensure full school compliance with Florida Department of Health and Board of Education regulations, maintaining precise, confidential student immunization records, health histories, and state-mandated health screenings. Emergency Response: Lead campus emergency health responses and maintain immediate readiness for acute injuries or illnesses. Student & Family Advocacy: Serve as the primary health liaison between parents, faculty, local pediatricians, and school administration to foster a safe, healthy learning community. Requirements & Qualifications Mandatory Requirements: Licensure: Active Florida license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in good standing. Pediatric Experience: Minimum of 3 to 4 years of dedicated experience working directly with children in a clinical, pediatric, urgent care, or educational setting. Mandatory Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR Certification. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification. Must meet all Florida Department of Education and Department of Health qualification standards for school nurses. Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive Level 2 background check and drug screen required for educational staff. Preferred Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a gentle, patient bedside manner suited for children and anxious parents. Strong organizational capability to manage student medical files, action plans, and state reporting. Confident decision-making skills in triage and acute care situations.
