Managed Generator Services LLC (MGS) is seeking a highly skilled Traveling Generator Technician(A-Level) to join our Field Operations team. This is not your average technician role—we're looking for a true leader in the field who can independently diagnose, repair, and maintain generators up to and beyond 2000 kW. Key

Responsibilities

Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting of engines, electrical systems, and generator controllers.

Conduct load bank testing and system commissioning.

Execute preventive and corrective maintenance.

Handle emergency repairs and after-hours diagnostics when needed.

Support new equipment installations and major repairs.

Document work clearly, communicate with the office, and ensure job completion to standard. Mentor junior technicians and lead by example in the field.

Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on generator service experience required.

Master-level knowledge of generator systems, including major brands (Kohler, Generac, Cummins/Onan).

Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities.

Willingness to travel to out of town jobsites.

Valid driver’s license with a clean record.

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in diverse field environments.

EPA, EGSA, and OEM certifications are a strong plus.

Strong time management, communication, and documentation skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Schedule

Full-time, 4-day work week

Location
