Summary

The RN Staff Nurse on 5 Main is responsible for delivering competent, individualized nursing care to patients and families by utilizing the nursing process to augment the established medical plan of treatment. Operating with a strong team orientation, this nurse integrates sound clinical judgment and evidence-based decision-making to address the unique needs of each patient. The role emphasizes exceptional customer relations and professional communication, ensuring that care is delivered with both clinical precision and a high level of service excellence.

By maintaining a focus on safety and collaborative practice, the RN Staff Nurse serves as a vital advocate for the patient while contributing to the overall effectiveness of the healthcare team.

5 Main

36 bed unit with a patient population that includes pulmonary and infectious disease. Age ranges from newborn to young adult. 1:3 - 1:4 Ratio

Education/Experience

1 year of direct nursing experience required. 2+ years inpatient experience preferred. Pediatric experience preferred. Associate's degree in nursing.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification

Active, unrestricted TX Registered Nurse (RN) license. BLS (American Heart Association).

Post hire

Requirements

PALS or NRP and specialty certifications per unit guidelines.
