JOB TITLE: Clinical Supervisor/RN - NWSC REPORTS TO: Clinical Administrator
The Clinical Supervisor/RN is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and supervision of clinical operations throughout Pre-Op, the Operating Room, and PACU at Northern Wyoming Surgical Center, LLC. Working under the direction of the Clinical Administrator, the Clinical Supervisor provides clinical leadership, coordinates staffing and patient flow, supports staff performance and competency, and serves as a clinical resource to the perioperative team.
The Clinical Supervisor/RN collaborates with the Clinical Administrator, physicians, anesthesia providers, clinical staff, and other Center departments to promote safe, efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective patient care. The Clinical Supervisor maintains Registered Nurse competency and provides direct patient care within demonstrated education, training, competency, and scope of practice when needed.
Job requirements
Current Wyoming licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse required or an applicable multistate license issued under the Nurse Licensure Compact.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
Experience
Minimum of two (2) years of perioperative nursing experience required.
Ambulatory surgery experience preferred.
Previous clinical leadership experience as a charge nurse, supervisor, or clinical leadership preferred.
Demonstrated clinical competency in perioperative nursing.
Experience across Pre-Op, Operating Room, and/or PACU strongly preferred.

Must possess a high degree of confidentiality of all matters with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.
Knowledge of perioperative and post-anesthesia care nursing principles.
Knowledge of Pre-Op, Operating Room, and PACU workflows, patient-safety principles, infection prevention, and perioperative nursing standards.
Demonstrated leadership ability, including the ability to supervise, mentor, educate, and provide constructive feedback to clinical staff.
Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, anesthesia providers, nursing staff, Administration, and other Center personnel.
Ability to remain effective, exercise sound judgment, and make appropriate decisions in urgent, changing, or high-stress clinical situations.
Must be well motivated, organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
Ability to coordinate patient flow, staffing assignments, priorities, and clinical resources across multiple perioperative areas.

Must be able to write policies and procedures.

Essential functions
Coordinate and supervise daily clinical operations throughout Pre-Op, Operating Room, and PACU in collaboration with the Clinical Administrator.
Review the daily surgical schedule and coordinate staff assignments, patient flow, room readiness, breaks, relief coverage, and staffing adjustments based upon patient and operational needs.
Serve as an immediate clinical resource for nursing staff and assist with clinical problem-solving, prioritization, escalation, and coordination of care.
Provide direct patient care within demonstrated competency and scope of practice when needed to support safe and efficient Center operations.
Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, nursing staff, and other Center personnel to promote effective communication and continuity of care throughout the perioperative process.
Delegate and monitor assigned clinical responsibilities and ensure staff follow policies, procedures, professional standards, and established clinical practices.
Monitor clinical documentation for completeness, accuracy, and timely completion and address identified concerns with staff and the Clinical Administrator.
Promote compliance with infection-prevention practices, medication safety, aseptic technique, patient identification, safe surgery processes, and other established patient-safety requirements.
Ensure clinical areas are appropriately prepared, stocked, clean, and ready for patient care and communicate supply, equipment, environmental, or operational concerns to the appropriate department and Clinical Administrator.
Ensure emergency medications, emergency equipment, and lifesaving equipment are available and maintained in accordance with Center policy and assigned departmental processes.
Identify and promptly communicate significant patient-care events, staffing concerns, incidents, safety concerns, or deviations from established standards to the Clinical Administrator and other appropriate leadership.
Assist with incident/occurrence follow-up and implementation of corrective or improvement actions as directed by the Clinical Administrator.
Support clinical staffing productivity and appropriate utilization of personnel within the 10-hour operational model.
Participate in the development, review, implementation, and reinforcement of clinical policies, procedures, workflows, and documentation processes assigned by the Clinical Administrator.
Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), infection prevention, safety, emergency preparedness, staff education, meetings, and other Center activities as assigned.
Promote a positive, professional, accountable, and collaborative work environment and serve as a role model for clinical staff.
Assume designated clinical leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Clinical Administrator according to the established leadership coverage plan.
Assist the Clinical Administrator with staff orientation, mentoring, education, competency validation, performance feedback, and ongoing clinical development.
Secondary functions
Attend and participate in department head meetings, classes, committees, or workshops as requested by Administrator.
Perform other clinical leadership and patient-care responsibilities as assigned by the Clinical Administrator and appropriate to the individual's education, licensure, training, competency, and scope of practice.
