Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to neonates in a Level II NICU, including stabilization and support for transfer when needed
- Manage CPAP, HFNC, and Vapotherm with appropriate monitoring and interventions
- Perform IV starts/EPIVs, administer PPN/lipids, and support short-term intubation as needed
- Provide phototherapy and bilirubin management; monitor for NAS/NOWS and respond to feeding needs (bottle, breast, gavage)
- Conduct sepsis workups and administer IV antibiotics; monitor infants for infection symptoms
- Coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team; document in the Epic chart; educate families about care plans
- Be prepared to float to Postpartum for stable couples and to Pediatrics for bili/feeder-grower cases as needed, with orientation shifts provided if no couplet experience
Requirements
- Licenses: Active Washington RN license; pending license accepted per policy
Experience
Minimum 2 years NICU experience; travel assignment experience required
- Patient care: NICU patient ratio experience around 3:1
Certifications
BLS and NRP required; core neonatal skills proficiency (resuscitation, IV management, phototherapy, NAS/NOWS care)
- Other: Ability to work in a Level II NICU environment; pre-approved time off must be included with submittal; 2 references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years; pre-start modules completed prior to start
