Nursing Women's Clinic - Triage RN

• Perform telephone, electronic, and in-person patient triage using established clinical protocols.

• Assess patient symptoms, medical concerns, and urgency to determine appropriate disposition.

• Identify and promptly escalate emergent or potentially life-threatening conditions.

• Provide evidence-based nursing advice, health education, and self-care instructions within RN scope of practice.

• Schedule or coordinate appropriate clinic visits, urgent appointments, emergency care, or other follow-up services.

• Monitor maternal and fetal well-being and identify changes requiring provider intervention.

• Assist providers with obstetric and gynecologic examinations and procedures.

• Perform fetal monitoring, non-stress tests (NSTs), and other clinic-based obstetric procedures as appropriate.

• Pre-op and post care and follow up.

• Communicate patient concerns and assessment findings to physicians, advanced practice providers, and other members of the care team.

• Review and respond to patient messages, refill requests, test-result questions, and other clinical inquiries as assigned.

• Document assessments, interventions, patient education, and disposition accurately and promptly in the electronic health record.

• Follow established triage protocols, organizational policies, and applicable standards of nursing practice.

• Monitor patient follow-up needs and assists with care coordination and continuity of care.

• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and other applicable regulations.

• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinic workflow initiatives.

• Provide compassionate, culturally responsive, and professional patient care.

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.

• Clinical nursing experience; ambulatory care, primary care, urgent care, or telephone triage experience preferred.

• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation.

• Ability to manage multiple patient needs in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Ambulatory Care Nursing certification or other relevant specialty certification.

Experience using evidence-based telephone or symptom-triage protocols.

Experience with patient portals and electronic messaging.

Experience coordinating care across multiple healthcare services.

Physical/Work Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, communicate effectively, and work at a computer for extended periods.

Ability to respond appropriately to urgent patient needs.

May require occasional lifting, walking, or other physical activities depending on clinic operations

• Paid Time Off (PTO): Full-time and part-time (part-time is prorated) employees will begin accruing upon hire date. Waiting period of 90 days. PTO amounts for 40-hour employees are 23 days (184 hours). Maximum annual carryover of 240 hours.

• WA Paid Sick Leave: All employees accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked. Waiting period of 90 days. Maximum rollover is 40 hours per year.

• Extended Sick Time (EST): Full-time and part-time (part-time is prorated) employees will begin accruing upon hire date. Waiting period of 90 days. EST hours may be used for illness or injury after an absence of three consecutive working days. WA Paid Sick Leave and/or PTO, if available, will be used during this waiting period. Maximum accumulation of 480 hours.
