Responsibilities
- Administer infusions per orders, including chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, blood products, enzyme replacement therapy, and gene therapy as indicated.
- Manage IV access devices (IVADs/Ports), maintain aseptic technique, and monitor patients during and after infusion.
- Assess and respond to infusion-related symptoms or adverse reactions; monitor vital signs and patient comfort.
- Document care in the patient record, communicate with the care team and families, and ensure accurate reconciliation of medications and orders.
- Collaborate with nursing teammates, pharmacists, and physicians to coordinate care and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- NY Registered Nurse license (active)
- Two years of pediatric experience
- BLS certification
- PEARS certification
- APHON-related practice or certification (as specified)
- Ability to work in a hospital-based pediatric infusion center and adapt to changing center needs
Education
- RN licensure required by New York; specific degree details not listed beyond licensure
