Responsibilities

  • Administer infusions per orders, including chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, blood products, enzyme replacement therapy, and gene therapy as indicated.
  • Manage IV access devices (IVADs/Ports), maintain aseptic technique, and monitor patients during and after infusion.
  • Assess and respond to infusion-related symptoms or adverse reactions; monitor vital signs and patient comfort.
  • Document care in the patient record, communicate with the care team and families, and ensure accurate reconciliation of medications and orders.
  • Collaborate with nursing teammates, pharmacists, and physicians to coordinate care and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • NY Registered Nurse license (active)
  • Two years of pediatric experience
  • BLS certification
  • PEARS certification
  • APHON-related practice or certification (as specified)
  • Ability to work in a hospital-based pediatric infusion center and adapt to changing center needs

Education

  • RN licensure required by New York; specific degree details not listed beyond licensure
