As the Medical Assistant, you will support providers in delivering high-quality patient care by assisting with clinical procedures, documenting patient visits, and coordinating day-to-day patient care activities. This role is responsible for preparing patients for treatment, maintaining accurate medical records, performing clinical tasks such as phlebotomy and instrument sterilization, and ensuring a safe, organized clinical environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and thrives in a fast-paced specialty practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Obtain vital signs and complete patient intake, medical histories, and assessments.
Document patient visits, including medical scribing and EMR data entry.
Answer patient calls, provide test results, coordinate pre-op instructions, and process prescriptions.
Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and in-office procedures.
Support hair restoration procedures, including surgical assistance and graft preparation.
Perform phlebotomy and prepare specimens or PRP for treatment.
Prepare exam rooms, surgical trays, and treatment areas.
Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments and maintain a safe clinical environment.
Maintain lab, pathology, and treatment documentation with accuracy.
Perform scalp and aesthetic treatments using specialized equipment.
Ensure accurate completion of clinical forms, consents, and related documentation.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Up-to-date immunizations, including Hepatitis B, Tdap, and MMR.
At least 1 year of medical assisting experience preferred.
Previous experience in dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, hair restoration, or a related specialty preferred.
Knowledge of clinical procedures, patient care, and medical documentation.
Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical and procedural environment.
