Completion of 8 Hours of education specific to Total Ankle, Hip, and Knee Replacement. Completion of 4 of these hours as Erlanger Online Education upon hire (EOLs and other training will be assigned by Department Leadership and/or Educator).

Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills; knowledge of organizational functions, policies and regulations; knowledge of current trends and new developments; knowledge of principles and practices of nursing, applicable to those areas requiring special education. One (1) year nursing experience.

BLS completed prior to going to unit/department and maintained going forward
Department Position Summary
The Registered Nurse will demonstrate knowledge and skill necessary to provide comprehensive preoperative care appropriate to the age of the patients seen in the Pre-Admission Testing Unit.
The Registered Nurse will collaborate with the patient, family and health team members to obtain pertinent data about the patients medical history, physical and mental conditions, and therapies. An assessment will be made of any disease, disorder, medical or alternative therapy which may affect perioperative out comes. Physical, psychological, educational, sociocultural and spiritual needs will be assessed, care plans will be developed and interventions initiated to optimize positive outcomes.
The Registered Nurse will demonstrate the ability to assess data, recognize abnormal findings, take appropriate action in a timely manner, and document accurately.
