About this role
The unit is a 22-bed Neuro/Surgical ICU, with neuro being the primary focus. Admits a vast array of patients including Strokes with and without TNK administration, head trauma, craniotomies, aneurysm repairs, ICP monitoring, EVD placement/monitoring, and organ procurement. From a surgical standpoint, cares for all patients out of PACU (GI, ORTHO, SPINAL, etc.) with exception to any open hearts. Also admits medical ICU patients and on occasion will take overflow cardiac patients. The floor often has many bedside procedures; chest tube, bronchoscopy, and EGD, to name a few.

Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred. 1 year of experience in Critical Care setting preferred but will accept new graduates. BLS required. RN License in state of employment or compact. Current ACLS certification required. TNCC within 60 days of hire (experienced) or 18 months (new graduates). TCAR within 60 days of hire (experienced) or 18 months (new graduates). PALS within 30 days of hire (experienced) or 90 days (new graduates). All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
