The team is composed of a multidisciplinary group of professionals, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Patient Care Technicians, Support Staff, Respiratory Therapists, and Pharmacists. Together, they collaborate to deliver patient- and family-centered care of the highest quality. The WICU is proud to be recognized for its culture of teamwork, inclusivity, and excellence.

In 2024, they received the AACN Gold Beacon Award for Excellence, the highest honor for nursing excellence, and they have also been awarded the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s Family-Centered Care Award, reflecting their commitment to supporting not only patients but their families as well.

WICU nurses consistently describe the WICU as a unit where colleagues support one another, where every voice matters, and where new team members are welcomed into a culture that values learning, growth, and belonging.
