• Current state RN license

• Current BLS and ACLS required (PALS preferred)

Education

• ADN or BSN; BSN preferred

Experience

• 2–3 years of perioperative or procedure center or facility experience (Pre-Op, OR, PACU)
• Charge Nurse or leadership experience preferred
• Pain Management experience preferred

*Knowledge:*

• Working understanding of procedure suite operations, sterile technique, infection control, and state regulatory requirements

*Key Responsibilities*

*Leadership & Support of Policy Implementation*

• Assists the Medical Director with daily coordination of clinical operations to ensure appropriate staffing, quality care, and regulatory compliance.
• Serves as the on-floor resource for nursing and clinical support staff, providing coaching and real-time problem-solving.
• Helps reinforce nursing policies, procedures, and facility protocols as established by the Governing Body.
• Supports new staff orientation and competency validation under the direction of the Medical Director and CEO.
• Communicates workflow issues, staffing needs, and clinical concerns promptly.
• Participates in staff meetings and assists with facilitating team communication.

*Operational Management*

• Oversees patient flow through Pre-Op, OR, and PACU to ensure efficiency and on-time case progression.
• Coordinates daily clinical staffing assignments based on patient acuity and case volume.
• Ensures compliance with safety procedures, infection control practices, and fire/disaster protocols.
• Assists the in monitoring equipment readiness, supply availability, and environmental safety.
• Supports the Medical Director by communicating supply shortages, equipment concerns, or operational issues needing attention.
• Participates in facility inspections, audit readiness activities, and corrective action follow-up.

*Clinical Management*

• Provides direct patient care as needed, including assessments, medication administration, IV starts, airway support, and post-operative monitoring.
• Ensures thorough, accurate, and timely documentation in all clinical areas.
• Assists in maintaining clean, sterile, and well-functioning OR suites and equipment in collaboration with surgical and sterile processing staff.
• Addresses patient and staff concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues when appropriate.
• Reinforces adherence to policies and procedures.

*Quality & Infection Control Support*

• Assists with monitoring infection control practices and ensuring staff compliance with protocols.
• Reports infection control concerns or variances for evaluation and follow-up.
• Supports QAPI activities by participating in audits, collecting data, and reinforcing corrective actions within the clinical team.
• Ensures clinical staff are following established cleaning, sterilization, and turnover processes.
