About this role

VCU Medical Center is the only comprehensive Level I adult, pediatric and burn trauma center in the region. As a member of the Burn ICU, you will care for acute burns and assist with the reconstructive needs of burn survivors and people injured from fire, chemical, scalds, electrical burns and skin loss as a result from disease. It is a 16 bed unit providing all levels of care for adults with burn injuries and general level of care for pediatric patients.

The Clinical Nurse I/II/III job integrates technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet the needs of the patient and family, assists the health care team with prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. Delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care. Safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions.
