Details Hospital-based Cardiac Telemetry unit with 32 beds Adult to geriatric patient population including cardiac (CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias such as stable A-Fib, SVT, bradycardia), pulmonary (COPD, pulmonary edema, PE, DVT), renal, DKA, post cardiac cath, surgical (cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, biliary drains), and occasional vascular or overflow ortho/CVA patients Patient ratio of 1:5-6 Proficiency with continuous IV drips required, including cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, Nitroglycerin), diuretics (Bumex, Lasix), anticoagulants (Aggrastat, Argatroban, Heparin), and insulin drips Epic EMR experience preferred; also uses Pyxis and SBAR documentation Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00) Weekend rotation required; travelers fill in gaps after permanent staff are scheduled Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed On-call is rare with a 2-hour response time requirement May serve as overflow IMCU as needed Requirements Active GA RN license or compact RN license required at time of consideration Current BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 1 year of RN experience required Prior travel nursing experience required Experience managing continuous IV drip medications required Basic arrhythmia knowledge and cardioversion experience required Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers are not eligible for this position Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of 1 full year before returning as a travel nurse Navy blue scrubs required RTO maximum of 7 days per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO allowed; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as 1) No special scheduling requests are accepted; the posted night shift is firm Local candidates are accepted for this position Candidates undergo a clinical review for fit prior to manager consideration
