About this role

Uvalde Memorial Hospital is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality emergency and trauma care while supporting patients and families with compassion, teamwork, and excellence.

What You’ll Do

Provide direct and indirect nursing care to ED patients of all ages within RN scope of practice

Perform triage, ongoing assessments, and rapid intervention for emergent conditions

Monitor cardiac/hemodynamic status, recognize dysrhythmias, and respond according to protocols (including ACLS standards when applicable)

Assist providers with procedures and deliver technical/manual nursing services as needed

Coordinate and communicate with the interdisciplinary team to support safe, timely patient care

Document accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record (EHR), including history, medications, treatments, and changes in condition

Support unit readiness by ensuring supplies, equipment, and environment are maintained appropriately

Participate in quality, safety, and patient experience initiatives; serve as a preceptor as assigned

Qualifications

Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license

Associates Degree in Nursing required. Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.

Current BLS (Healthcare Provider)

TNCC within 1 year of hire

Basic Sexual Assault Forensic Evidence Collection Course within 2 years of hire

Prior Emergency Department nursing experience preferred.
