Youngstown sits in northeast Ohio's Mahoning Valley, a former steel town reinventing itself with downtown lofts, Youngstown State University, and the sprawling Mill Creek Park. Nurses who appreciate tight-knit communities, short commutes, and Rust Belt grit will find an affordable midsize city with surprising green space and a slow but steady revival.
